Zara Wardrop is a Scottish Soprano studying under the tutelage of Louise Winter at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. Before commencing her studies in Manchester, Zara studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Juniors and was involved with Scottish Opera Connect and the Royal Scottish National Young Ambassador Scheme.

Whilst studying at the RCS, Zara performed in the BBC collaboration of Britten’s ‘Noyes Fludde’ with the Scottish BBC Symphony Orchestra at Glasgow City Halls and at Aberdeen Youth Festival with solo roles. Scottish Opera Connect saw performances in the chorus of Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’ and premier of the gothic opera ‘The Cabinet of Dr. Calagri’ by Karen MacIver. With a vast amount of stage-work experienced from a young age, Zara applied this to competition which led to winning awards in Regional Rotary Young Musician of the year and the ‘Ayr Amateur Operatic Society Cup for Voice’.

Last year, Zara performed in the chorus of Puccini's 'Suor Angelica' directed by Robert Chevara and conductor Martin André at the RNCM. She has now recently performed in RNCM's production of Pilgrim's Progress by Vaughan Williams conducted by David Parry with cover roles.

Also this year Zara is preparing for concerts which are going to be performed at the RNCM and numerous locations throughout Scotland.  See events page for more information.

Once Zara has completed her BMus degree at the RNCM Manchester she intends to embark on a Master’s Degree of Performance in singing, in the UK or abroad.
